Diary of a modern day pioneer couple

Upon James' brilliant idea that he was bored and needed to build something like a house, garage and stables, we sold our 100 acre farm between Goulburn and Marulan and bought a 200 acre farm between Gundaroo and Collector, just outside of Canberra. We are now living on the new farm in a caravan with no electricity, no sewerage and no running water! This is our story. James and Tracey

It doesn't get any better than this

Sitting in deck chairs outside the caravan just listening to the sounds of the country and chatting and reconnecting with each other because we have no electricity to watch tv or listen to the radio - does it get any better than this?

Yes, it does.

Moving out of the caravan and into the shed and being able to stretch your arms out to the side and not be able to touch a wall - does it get any better than this?

Yes, it does.

To sleep in a bed where your feet don't hang out over the edge - does it get any better than this?

Yes, it does.

Having electricity again after ten months without it and being able to do a simple thing like turn a light switch on - does it get any better than this?

Yes, it does.

Having the drought break and seeing your brand new megalitre dam overflow - does it get any better than this?

Yes, it does.

Being able to turn the electric blanket on and snuggle in bed when it's -3 degrees inside the shed - does it get any better than this?

Yes, it does.

Watching your dream home become a reality - will it get any better than this?

Yes, it will.

Eventually :)
